I have 25 years of experience in the charitable sector. My work encompasses nonprofit management, marketing, and campaign consulting with a diverse array of charities. I'm the Director of Gift Planning for the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, a Forbes Top 100 charity, leading a team of eight philanthropy specialists. I also serve in a variety of roles – including as a board member – with Street 2 Street, a New York area ministry connecting Wall Street leaders with disadvantaged inner-city teens. Prior experience includes roles with the American Red Cross, University of Missouri, and Family Life Communications.

My passion for philanthropy is very nearly prenatal. My parents were missionaries who, beginning in 1969, raised their support from individuals and churches – asking for $25 and $50 monthly pledges – one at a time. Then they left for foreign lands, hoping and praying their donors would remain faithful … which they did.

I've been writing professionally all my adult life. My work has been featured in a wide array of media including radio promotions, brochures, magazines, newsletters, books and websites. My articles have been featured in Planned Giving Today, the Journal of Gift Planning and publications of many national and regional charities.

I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Temple University (now Carolina University) and have been a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) since 2005. I am an an avid reader (history & biography) a keen but poor golfer (wretched, actually) and devoted to English Premier League football and Leicester City. I live near Nashville, Tennessee with my wife Stacey, and together we have two adult children and two grandchildren.
